City Lights SF accepts General Returns on most of our products within 30 days of receipt as long as the product is new, uninstalled, and in its original packaging. Items that are special order, made to order, and non-returnable can not be returned and will be noted on the product page. | In the early 20th Century, the Arts and Crafts movement emerged as a counter to the Industrial Age’s over-elaboration and mass production, championing simplicity, craftsmanship, and materials’ natural integrity. Influential figures like Frank Lloyd Wright, Elbert Hubbard, and Louis Comfort Tiffany, among others, set the foundation for this distinctly American art form, blending organic architecture with handcrafted furnishings to promote a simpler, back-to-basics lifestyle. In Southern California, this movement took root uniquely along the Arroyo Seco, inspiring the Arroyo Guild of Fellow Craftsman to publish “Arroyo Craftsman” in 1909, advocating for the beauty of hand-made creations. By the late 1980s, this ethos experienced a revival in Pasadena through an artisan deeply influenced by the Greene Brothers’ iconic bungalows, leading to the establishment of Arroyo Craftsman. Today, Arroyo Craftsman continues to produce fine architectural and landscape lighting that reflects the movement’s core principles of elegant simplicity and meticulous craftsmanship, maintaining its position as the leading contemporary interpreter of Arts and Crafts inspired lighting. |
